Medical-grade PDO
The DIOXACTISSE 100 [PDO] medical grade filament is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic made from high-quality Polydioxanone (PDO). White and flexible, this material stands out for its rapid resorption, occurring within 4 to 6 months after implantation. Thanks to its glass transition temperature below room temperature, it retains a flexibility well suited to biomedical applications. Implantable, bioresorbable and biocompatible, it is particularly used for temporary devices requiring rapid degradation, such as sutures, textile structures or tissue engineering scaffolds.

Technical specifications
- Nature : Semi-crystalline thermoplastic
- Color: White
- Appearance: Semi-flexible
- Diameter: 1.75 mm – 2.85 mm
- Weight: 100 g – 200 g
- Origin : Made in France
- Properties: Bioresorbable, biocompatible, implantable, flexible
Printing properties
To ensure reliable prints suitable for medical applications, the following parameters are recommended:
- Extrusion temperature: 180–230 °C
- Bed temperature: 80–100 °C
- Print speed: 20–60 mm/s
PDO is a material sensitive to humidity and temperature. It requires careful storage under vacuum with a desiccant bag, in a cool environment between -4 °C and -20 °C, and away from light. Before use, exposure to ambient air should be kept to a minimum to prevent premature degradation.
Its biological and functional properties
- Short-term bioresorbable (4 to 6 months)
- Biocompatible
- Implantable
- Flexible
- Rapid and controlled degradation
Its flexibility combined with rapid resorption makes it an ideal material for temporary devices supporting the early stages of healing and tissue regeneration.
Its areas of application
Medical-grade PDO filament is particularly suited to the following uses in the healthcare sector:
- Surgical sutures
- Tensor threads in aesthetic medicine
