Medical ABS black

The ABS MEDICAL BLACK filament is a medical-grade thermoplastic made from high-quality Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS). Black in color and rigid in appearance, this material is specifically designed for producing 3D printed parts intended for skin contact applications. Non-resorbable, it stands out for its strength and thermal stability, making it a reliable choice for medical applications requiring durability and mechanical resistance. Fully compatible with 3D printing, it is particularly suited for external devices, prototypes, and medical tools.

Technical specifications

  • Nature: Amorphous thermoplastic
  • Color: Black
  • Appearance: Rigid
  • Diameter: 1.75 mm – 2.85 mm
  • Weight: 500 g
  • Origin: Made in France
  • Properties: Durable, stable, suitable for skin contact

Printing properties

To ensure reliable prints, the following parameters are recommended:

  • Extrusion temperature: 220–240 °C
  • Bed temperature: 100–115 °C
  • Printing speed: 20–50 mm/s

ABS requires a controlled printing environment to limit warping. The use of a heated bed and preferably an enclosed printer is recommended to ensure good adhesion and dimensional stability.

Its biological and functional properties

  • Non-resorbable
  • Skin-contact compatible
  • Rigid
  • High thermal resistance
