Medical PETG

The medical-grade PETG filament is a transparent, high-quality thermoplastic made from polyethylene glycol terephthalate glycol-modified.

Produced in France from ISO 10993-5 certified pellets for skin contact, this material combines ease of use, chemical resistance, and strength, making it ideal for functional prototypes and non-implantable medical devices.

Zoom on medical PETG

Its technical characteristics

  • Material: PETG (Polyethylene glycol terephthalate glycol-modified)
  • Color: Transparent
  • Appearance: Rigid, glossy finish
  • Diameters: 1.75 mm & 2.85 mm
  • Spool weight: 500 g
  • Origin: Made in France
  • Certification: ISO 10993-5 (skin contact)

Its printing properties

Recommended printing parameters for reliable and smooth results:

  • Extrusion temperature: 230 – 245 °C
  • Bed temperature: 75 – 85 °C
  • Print speed: 40 – 70 mm/s

PETG prints easily with excellent layer adhesion and minimal warping, even without an enclosed chamber.

Its mechanical and thermal properties

  • High chemical and thermal resistance
  • Strong and impact-resistant
  • Low deformation (minimal warping)
  • Amorphous rigid thermoplastic

These features make PETG suitable for durable, dimensionally stable, and high-quality medical prototypes.

Its areas of application

The medical PETG filament is recommended for:

  • Medical device prototyping in contact with skin or fluids (ventilators, tubing, suction, etc.)
  • Packaging and blister prototypes for medical use
  • Functional parts and testing tools in clinical environments

Its advantages and precautions

Advantages

  • ISO 10993-5 certified for skin contact
  • High mechanical and chemical strength
  • Transparent for visual inspection
  • Excellent dimensional stability
  • Easy to print

Precautions

  • Not implantable, external use only
  • Avoid prolonged exposure >80 °C
  • Store in a dry place to ensure consistent extrusion
