Medical grade copolymer filament

GLYCOLACTISSE PLGA/HA

PLGA/HA is a medical-grade poly(lactic-co-glycolic) copolymer [PLGA] composed of lactic acid and high-quality glycolic acid. It is filled with 10% hydroxyapatite* (HAP).

This rigid-looking filament is ivory. It is implantable and resorbable after 12 to 24 months.

Supplied in a 1.75 mm diameter spool weighing 100 or 200g.

*If you wish to modify the load value, please contact us for a custom extrusion request.

Description

PLGA/HA is an amorphous, ivory-colored thermoplastic that resorbs within 12 to 24 months once implanted. Our filament consists of 90% polylactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) and 10% hydroxyapatite (HAP). This innovative composition combines the resorption properties of PLGA with a natural component of bone, hydroxyapatite, thus enhancing osteoconductivity, making it an ideal filament for bone reconstruction applications. The polymer is rigid because at room temperature it is above the glass transition.

Storage

Store the materials in the same conditions as when you received them, i.e. vacuum-packed with a desiccant bag. Store them away from light and at a low temperature (between -4° and -20°C). If not used for a prolonged period (several weeks), return the materials to these conditions to prevent premature deterioration.
